What is manual osteopathic treatment? What conditions can be treated?
Manual osteopathic treatment is a gentle, hands-on, whole-body method of releasing restrictions in the body to enhance central nervous system performance and allow the body to self-correct. Osteopathic treatment corrects the form of the body. An improved form facilitates better function. Visceral techniques release tension of the fascia throughout the body.

How many sessions do I need?
Each individual response to a treatment is unique and the number of sessions varies widely. Infants and Children often only need 2-3 sessions to relief the problem. Adults most likely need more sessions. Tosha usually recommends between 5 and 10 depending on the severity and duration of the problem. Regular check-ups after 6 - 12 weeks are recommended for both children and adults. Also, over 80% of conditions have their roots in chronic problems and have developed over a long period of time. Thus, treatment won't be an "immediate fix". However, changes to the bodies system can be made and over time the health trajectory of the client may be changed.

What will I experience after a session?
Just as each individual experiences treatments differently, the results can be diverse as well. Some people feel a very deep relaxation, which may be accommodated by tiredness; others have increased energy. Your pain may decrease right after the first session and your function improves. However, sometimes, it takes 3-4 sessions until a change can be felt and the effects develop gradually over the next few days after a treatment. If no change is felt after 6 - 7 sessions, a new treatment plan should be developed. In some cases the patient may experience some mild muscle soreness for one or two days as a result of the body readjusting to the new posture.
